Senior Night!!!

What an exciting tow weeks of Ranger football…This week is a Rematch from the 2018 Divisoin 10 playoffs. No doubt Simi Valley is well coached. No doubt Simi Valley is a larger squad. No doubt Siimi Valley has players transferring in to play for the best coach in the Ventura County, Jim Benkert.

AND There’s NO DOUBT I would take our squad over any team, any place, any time!

Last weeks game again Fillmore was a physical display starting with our captain and four year starter Mike Trejo. Not only did he impose his will on many of the Fillmore players, he also caused and recovered a fumble on a pivotal onside kick! Mike was the key blocker for all three Ranger running backs that combined for 273 yards. Along with Trejo, Leeram Stoneman threw for four touchdowns then added one for himself on the ground essentially scoring all five touchdowns…Jake Palmer caught three passes, all for touchdowns, Junior Patino caught one and the Rangers won 35-6.

Now Simi Valley, Players all over the field, a multitude of coaches, three times as many as our staff…A great test for our future!

Friday Night is our Senior Night…Always an emotional night…some of these guys I’ve had since freshman. I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart, I want you to leave as champions and i will do everything i can to make that happen! Go RANGERS!

Rivalry 101

Rivalries are the essence of gamesmanship. USC vs UCLA, Michigan vs Michigan St, Alabama vs Clemson….Santa Paula vs Nordhff, Fillmore vs Santa Paula, Nordhoff vs Fillmore…and the games go on. Between Carpinteria, Santa Paula, and Fillmore, Nordhoff has been playing these teams since the early 1900’s and the rivalry has never been greater. Last year Santa Paula and Nordhoff shared a league title, Fillmore was the deciding factor. Now both teams will meet September 27 @ Santa Paula High School Game time 7PM.

It just doesn’t get better then that! Come out and support our team!

CARP WEEK 2019!

San Marcos proved to be a good match up against the RANGERS this past week. There QB and WR combo have made some great highlights together. We were able to make some good adjustments in the second half and held the Knights to just one TD in the fourth quarter.

We wanted to control the clock and maintain the game. Korey Stevens had a breakout game racking up 246 yards on the ground. Leeram Stoneman through TD passes to Chadler Pullen, Junior Patino, Noah Koester, and Kaden Monson. Stevens ran his TD from 70 yards as the Rangers beat the knights 34-22

This week…is Carp Week! Carp Week means you don’t need motivation to get up for this game! Through recent history Carpinteria and Nordhoff have been playing football since the early 1900’s. As a matter of there are only a few occasions including WWI and WWII that we didn’t play. This is a rich revelry that both towns take very seriously. We have had a great week of practice and our defense is improving at every one. GAME TIME Friday September 20th @ Carpinteria,  JV @4PM, VAR @ 7PM

OAK PARK

After dropping our first game to West Ranch we re-established our running game against Eastside. Leeram Stoneman was 5-6 for 184 yds and 1 TD to Kaden Monson that went for 80 yards. On the Ground is were we made our stand Korey Stevens had 10 carries for 163 yards, Eli Dvortcsak had 9 carries for 136 yards. Combined with Leeram Stoneman, Noah Koester, Will Wiggins and Nick Stringer we combined for 344 yards rushing.

We look forward to our match up this week against Coach Casey Webb’s Oak Park Team. Coach Webb has his Eagles rolling right now at 2-0. We will look to control the clock and keep the ball out of their offensive hands. Always a great rivalry, look for some fireworks and if you plan on coming to the game bring your big voices!!! We will be on the other side of the field otherwise know as the Oak Park VOID… Make some noise and feed our fire!

Game of the Week!

The Santa Paula Cardinals have been playing the Nordhoff Rangers since the early 1920’s Just about a hundred years of football have been played between these two small towns. Generations of families and friends will meet again as your Rangers face off with the Cardinals.

As long as I can remember, this rivalry has shaped each teams season, this game is no different! Santa Paula comes in 4-0, your Rangers are 3-1. Both teams have high powered offenses and stingy defenses.  Finally we get to face off with schools that are both even in size, but also rich in tradition. This game has playoffs written all over it! League Game this week could not be more welcomed and excited!

Your new Coastal Citrus League starts tonight…let your school hear you cheer for them all night!!!!

Go Rangers!

The 2018 Season is in full Swing

School is less then a week in session and your Rangers are getting ready to play Game #3! As crazy as that seams its crazier to think your Rangers are in a new League for the first time in over twenty years! The Coastal Citrus League is comprised of 80-100 plus year rivalries mixed with rich tradition. Santa Paula, Fillmore, Carpinteria and Nordhoff have been playing each other for over 80 years. Santa Paula and Fillmore will go over 100 years. Santa Clara, Hueneme and Malibu join the league. Nordhoff and Hueneme have been battling on and off since the 40’s and the same goes with Santa Clara. All of the Teams are very happy to be in the league and the opportunities it gives us.

This week we have Oak Park, Last year we lose 18-22, Coach Casey Webb always has his Eagles ready for battle against the Rangers… Look for a smash mouth, air it out, defensive battle! Go RANGERS!
